Autumn Woodland

When Autumn leaves gently fall

And daylight softly flickers in

Between the branches of the trees

To throw hues of rusts and golden

Over an enchanted woodland scene

And moss-clad trees glisten in

The warm Autumn sunshine

Casting shadows down upon

This ferny, lush terrain

Fallen leaves adorn the path

Lending soft texture underfoot

Until decayed and rendered back

At season's end to Mother Earth
